January 18 HLAA Meeting – NEW TIME: 5 to 7 PM at the Deltona Library, 2150 Eustace Avenue, Deltona, 32725
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, a joyous New Year, and are pulling through this cold snap!
We have an exciting January meeting planned for the evening hours at the Deltona library. Our discussion topic for this meeting is hearing loss and social connections:
Connecting with people and sustaining those connections requires meaningful communication. When hearing loss enters the picture, relationships can and do suffer. Sheila and Gerry Adams will address the impact of hearing loss on a person’s physical, social and emotional well-being. Included in the discussion will be such contributing factors as innate temperament, gender differences, perception of need, and other issues that affect one’s manner of coping with hearing loss. Amidst the sharing of their journey, they will offer seasoned tips and practical insights that can enhance one’s hearing in typical day-to-day social settings.
Please let us know if you’ll be able to join us. Some folks may also head to a local restaurant afterwards for dinner and cocktails.
