HLAA Gulf Coast Celebrates 10th Anniversary
The HLAA Gulf Coast Chapter (formerly HLAA Clearwater) celebrated its 10th Anniversary at this month’s chapter meeting on January 3 with HLAA-FL State Coordinator Tanya Williams highlighting developments at HLAA and HLAA-FL and Chapter President Debbe Hagner providing the details of the chapter’s new growth goals, as well as the specific details for its expanded educational, social and outreach programs for the next year. One of the festivities’ highlights was chapter President Debbe Hagner (in photo on the right) thanking Safety Harbor Library Director, Lisa Kothe, with a chapter certificate of gratitude for their long term support.
The library’s legacy fund donated the cost of a hearing loop system to make their main auditorium a more functional home for the chapter’s monthly meetings, as well as other organizations meeting there. The library is also hosting the chapter’s special community open house on January 23, where 10 Smart and Easy Ways to Improve Your Hearing will be presented as a preview to its 2nd Healthy Hearing Expo on February 3. The library also maintains a special book section on hearing loss to support the chapter’s information and education programs.
